OWERRI WEST: Over the weekend, groups of Stakeholders across Political Parties in Owerri West local government area of Imo state, made an open request to Hon. Chidi Anthony Ordu (Madoka) to contest for the upcoming Local Government Council election in Owerri West.
The request was made at a Hotel in Owerri West where women groups, Youth bodies, non indigenes, Artisans and political stakeholders from the area converged in their numbers to ask the Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodinma on Rubber Estate, Hon. Madoka Anthony Ordu to come out and contest the local government election.
The meeting was fumed with expression of awesome satisfaction over Ordu’s leadership style showcased during his few months stay in office as the Executive chairman of Owerri West and presently as a special Adviser on Rubber Estate.
The group hinted that Madoka Ordu showed veritable efforts in making Owerri West lively and attractive during his time at the council as chairman.
Having studied his leadership inputs in Owerri West, it was Madoka Ordu that established the relationship between the oppositions of All Progressives Congress APC party during the time of Former Governor Rochas Okorocha”
“He used the opportunity as an elected LG Chairman to grade community roads and evacuated series of mountainous refuse dumps that littered Owerri West communities.
“In his time as chairman of the Council, though the tenure was so short, Ordu utilised the resources in his coffers to improve the area and empowered many indigent students, women and Youths of Owerri West.
Recall that LGA Football competition was highly reactivated during Madoka’s tenure in the council and some good players were assisted to join various state football clubs.
“We want him to come back as the chairman to make the people smile again. At Nekede where he hails from, his testimonies are uncountable, among them was the opening of the abandoned Mmiri Nkowoahia link road for easy movement and accessibility to various towns in Nekede.
The road was not motorable until Madoka came on board as chairman of Owerri West to make it motorable “
Meanwhile, Hon. Madoka is currently the Special Adviser to Governor Uzodinma on Rubber Estate, a feat he acquired by dint of efforts and his love for the government of Imo state has remained glaring.
The groups have described Anthony Madoka Ordu as best choice, a Youth that deserves the Local Government council Chairmanship seat now that the Governor is giving Imo Youths the opportunity to Serve in his administration.
It is on this therefore that Ordu Anthony deserve the approval of Owerri West leaders, All APC party members and the back up of Governor Uzodinma, since the people are seriously calling on him to come out and contest for LGA council Chairmanship election.
Recall that His few months at the Local Government Council as Chairman under Okorocha’s administration, Anthony Ordu embarked on several projects that are evidential in the eyes of Ndi Owerri West.
Madoka sponsored the Council headquarter’s block fencing upgrade and renovated the big abandoned Power sub
Generating set for office use. He also embarked on the renovation of Local Government Chairman’s Complex office. The POP Ceiling upgrade and Re cushioning of the Council Office seats, was done by same Madoka.
Hon Ordu Madoka invested huge sum of resources to grade Owerri West roads single handedly. Most among which is, the entrance road leading to the council headquarters umuguma. Madoka filled this particular road with broken blocks and made the road motorable before the Governor made his zero pothole policy across boards.
History has it that Same Madoka from Nekede Owerri West utilized his official time to tour round the communities in his constituency to identify various challenging projects in each ward and attended to all.
This singular move brought unity and love in the party and even attracted the oppositions then who joined his leadership wagon because of his an-all-inclusive leadership pattern reigning in Owerri West then. But nowadays Owerri West can hardly see such quality representation return back to the council.
He established a good working relationship with the local government workers, brought love to APC administration and the council headquarters was ignited with programs and official activities.
The Nekede Mmiri Nkowoahia link road was maintained and made motorable throughout his time as chairman. The opening of the road made it easier for motorists to connect the three autonomous communities in Nekede and gave a smooth drive to motorists playing the road from Westend axis via old road to police post/ Ihiagwa axis.
These uncountable projects were done by Hon Anthony Madoka Ordu within the short space of 6-7months tenure.
No doubt, as a Youth , our capacity Governor Hope Uzodinma will likely consider the demand of Ndi Owerri West and extend his Fatherly love to Ndi Owerri West by granting his special Adviser Anthony Madoka Ordu another wonderful opportunity to work in this capacity as Owerri West local government chairman than other contenders.
Our correspodent gathered that what the Governor need in Owerri West is to bring on board younger politicians, the Youths like Madoka Ordu and others to work with.
Owerri West leadership are craving for Youths that are ready to stand out to administer the desirable governance to the people just like Madoka who has the needed capacity and some others to unite the people and mobilize the grassroots for the government, the people hinted.
