In continuation of the allegations over debt and breaches, Davido has challenged the N2.3 billion breach of contract suit filed against him by Amaju Pinnick, Chairman of Brownhill Investments Company Limited.
Pinnick had initially claimed that Davido failed to appear at the event after receiving a sum of $94,500.
Meanwhile, during the court proceedings of the suit, Davido’s legal representation led by Norrison Quakers (SAN), challenged the jurisdiction of the Delta State High Court, Effurun to entertain the matter.
He argued that the issue should be treated as a debt recovery case, insisting that Pinnick should have followed due diligence before constituting a legal action.
Davido dismissed Pinnick’s claim that the sum was payment for a performance rather than promotional services.
In addition, Davido denied that Sosoberokon, who signed the contract on his behalf, was his authorised agent.
However, the court adjourned to the hearing to 14th December 2023 to rule on the preliminary objections filed.
