Your Kind Of Politics Is Destroying Economic Prospects Of Rivers, Gov Fubara Tells Critics

Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara has told his critics to reconsider the nature of their politicking because it is damaging to the image of the State.

He emphasized that while they believed to be engaged in an attack against him, they were eventually putting the State in negative reports that could discourage investors.

Governor Fubara spoke on Tuesday when he embarked on an inspection tour to assess the extent of work that has been achieved at the ongoing 6.5km Woji-Aleto-Alesa-Refinerylink road project.

The governor observed that true lovers of the State are patriotic and will not engage in broad decisive political activities that will chase away investors who are expected to add to the economic prosperity of the State.

“Whatever we are doing, whoever is sponsoring whatever, they are not doing it to the person of Fubara, they are using it to run down the State.

“I feel that it shouldn’t always be bad news to the project of the State. People should see the good part of our State and promote the image of our State.

“Economically, no sound and serious investor will hear all these stories and feel comfortable coming here to invest. So, we will try our best to continue to project the good side of our State.”

Commenting on the project, governor Fubara said the contractor, Raffoul Nigeria Limited had increased the pace of work and achieved commendable milestones with the promise of delivering it within the next three months.

“We were here about two months ago to follow up on the commitment of the company, Raffoul Construction and we decided to visit again today to see what they have been able to do and I can say that we are impressed.

“You know, the most critical part of the project is the bridge. If you have a video of what we saw then compared to what we already hon the three rounds now, it shows they’re doing everything to make sure that the project is completed within the time.

“They have promised that it will be delivered in the next three months and I believe so. For us, we will continue to do our best for our dear State. We were elected into office to deliver service.

“I believe that doing what you’re elected for, is not something strange, it is carrying out your duty. Wemustomusterr our people and we will continue to do that.”
