COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE MONTHLY MEETING OF SENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANTS (SSAs) TO THE GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE HIS EXCELLENCY RT. HON. ELDER SHERIFF F. O. OBOREVWORI HELD AT EL GRAND PREMIUM HOTEL ASABA ON THURSDAY 21ST MARCH 2024.

A CALL FOR DELTANS TO EMBRACE PEACE AND REMAIN VIGILANT

Within the last week, Deltans have witnessed a calamitious outbreak of two cataclysmic events of note leading to avoidable fatalities. First, is the violent protest by certain “Okada” and “Keke” riders in the Capital – Asaba. Second, is the gory killing of Soldiers and Civilians over a purported land dispute between Ukuama community in Delta State, and Okoloba Community in Bayelsa State. Needless to say, the avoidable loss of lives in any circumstance is both tragic and regretable.

These incidents are by no means a reflection of our peaceful nature as Deltans. As stakeholders, we are irretrievably committed to ensuring Delta state remains a most accomodating and peaceful state in the federation. It is on this premise that we, the SSAs to His Excellency RT. HON. ELDER SHERIFF F. O. OBOREVWORI arising from our Meeting of March 21st 2024 unanimously issue the underlisted pronouncements.
