A family from the United Kingdom, UK has made some cash donations to potential winners at the ongoing Spelling Bee competition in Yobe State.
The family, Dr. Benjamin and Family, a Nigerian living in the United Kingdom (UK) donated N45,000 to potential winners in the competition.
According to information sourced from Dr. Mohammed Goje, executive secretary of Yobe State Emergency Management Agency, YOSEMA, and also the host of the program, the winner of the tournament, the runner-up and third position would all benefit from the amount.
He noted that N20,000 will go to the winner, while the runner-up and third position would get N15,000 and N10,000 respectively.
Similarly, two other individuals from Nigeria have donated additional N500,000 to the potential winners.
With this, the first position is entitled to N1m cash prize and the second position to take home N305,000.
The third will also receive N200,000 cash.
The Spelling Bee, which is the second edition of the program in the state started on Wednesday and will end on Friday.
