About 500 households, living as Internally Displaced Person (IDPs) in various IDP camps are set to be resettled to their former community.
The community, Dalwa, is under Konduga local government area of the state, which was displaced several years ago due to Boko Haram insurgents’ activities.
This is coming following a directives by the state governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum to begin clearance of the village for smooth resettlement.
The clearance exercise was executed by Chairman of the council, Abba Ali Abbari, in collaboration with Major J. Ntasiri, the commanding officer of the area, and Mohammed Sheriff, the Special Assistant to the Governor, along with other security outfits.
This will also ensure the resumption of farming activities in the community and boost agricultural production.
While expressing appreciation for this move, Bazu Alinma, a former chairman, commended Governor Zulum for his relentless support for the people of Konduga.
Also, the APC Deputy National Chairman, Dr Ali Bukar Dalori, lauded the efforts of the governor for his resettlement drive, which he said will alleviate the hardships faced by the people.
Other stakeholders present at the launching of the exercise included traditional leaders, clerics, hunters, and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force.
