The Abia State Polytechnic has stopped the issuance of ‘statement of results’ to graduands.

According to a document made available to a 9News Nigeria correspondent, the polytechnic located in Aba, Abia State commenced the issuance of Certificates in place of Statement of results as of 1st June, 2024.

The document further revealed that all Statement of Results previously collected will be invalid from 1st January 2025.

Meanwhile, Abia State polytechnic announced that graduates who parade their Statement of Results should desist from such acts, utilizing the six months window available to collect their Cerificates.

This development comes after the Abia State government implemented the payment of salary and pension arrears incurred by the previous administration.

In a statement issued by the information commissioner, the state government initiated payments of the salary arrears of Abia State Polytechnic, amounting to a staggering N17.6 billion, involving installments of N1.5 billion over the next 12 months.
