Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma CON has earlier today Thursday October, 3rd, 2024 inaugurated two important boards which are the Imo State Scholarship Board alongside the Imo State Pilgrims Board.
9News reports that the inauguration took effect a day after the Imo State House of Assembly made some amendments and passed the Imo state pilgrims board law.
The motion came as an executive bill to amend the Imo state pilgrims welfare board law number 13 of 1982 which according to the sponsor of the motion, the Majority Leader 10th Assembly IMHA, Rt Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi have stayed more than 40 years without proper amendment as 9News Nigeria reports.
Governor Uzodinma have said that his administration remains committed to ensuring access to quality education for all Imo children, particularly the indigent sons and daughters across the State, as much as we give credence to the spiritual growth of our people.
To this effect, two vital boards that will advance these values: the Imo State Scholarship Board and the Imo State Pilgrims Board was inaugurated to be chaired by Rev. Fr. Marius Oluigbo and Rev. Fr. Gilbert Alaribe, respectively.
The Governor further added that the establishment of these boards reflects the shared prosperity administration’s commitment to addressing both intellectual and spiritual growth within IMO communities.
“I am confident that the distinguished members of this board will drive our vision forward, ensuring growth and sustainability in both sectors, Gov Uzodinma stated.
