Top-ranked male professional golfer in Nigeria, Sunday Olapade, earned a place in the Dubai Ports World Tour, which seems to be a significant achievement for his career.
The DP World Tour, sponsored by the Emirati Company DP World, hosts golf tournaments globally, which was formerly called the European Tour before its rebranding.
DP World operates ports worldwide, and the tour’s events are renowned in professional golf, as Olapade secured his spot at the Magical Kenyan Open, which is part of the series.
9News Nigeria reports that Olapade is the third Nigerian to achieve this feat, following in the footsteps of the late Christian Godfrey and Andrew Oche-Odoh.
Some of his words were; “I feel so elated to have come this far. This is a big deal, and I’m happy that it’s happening now.
“This win is for all golf enthusiasts. I want more support for golfers like me. The DP World Tour begins today, and I wish myself the best,” Olapade said.
