RIVERS: Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi has urged the officers of the Correctional Centre to continue to uphold highest standard of professionalism and respect for human dignity.
He however emphasized the need for greater synergy among the correctional center , Ministry of Justice, the Police and the Judiciary for decongestion the correctional facilities in the state.
Rivers State Chief Judge , Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi stated this while granting Pardon to twenty one 21 Inmates at the PortHarcourt correctional center over the weekend.
9News Nigeria reports that, the Chief Judge attributed the increasing number of inmates to the attitude of Nigerian Police and Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The kind hearted Chief Judge of Rivers State Nigeria further clarified that the release of the twenty one inmates from the state correctional center better said prison custody, was not to interfere in the activities of another agency but to complement their efforts in ensuring a just and equitable society and enforcement of the rule of law, 9News Nigeria reports.
