Arsenal legend, Nwankwo Kanu, has stated that everyone in Africa is sad over the injury sustained by Liverpool ace, Mohamed Salah which puts his participation in the 2018 World Cup in Russia in doubt.
Salah’s participation in the World Cup is a major doubt as a result of the shoulder injury he sustained during Liverpool’s 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final last month.
”It is not good news for Africa and I believe every African, no matter where they are, we are very, very sad because we expected him to do what he did with his club Liverpool, to do the same magic for his country in the World Cup,” Kanu explained to RT.com.
”I wish he will play and, if he does, he is still going to do what he does but I don’t know if he [misses] a couple of weeks, if he is still going to be the same type of player.
”Is he going to miss some training [sessions]? But good footballers will stay good footballers.”
Salah was the top scorer in the third round of the 2018 African World Cup qualifiers with five goals, two more than Nigeria’s winger, Victor Moses.
