President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has showcased his mansion in Ibadan, Oyo State, reportedly worth millions of naira.
In a viral video seen by 9NEWS NIGERIA, Adelabu was seen inside the lavishly furnished white mansion alongside his supporters, some of whom described it as the “next Oyo State government house” ahead of the 2027 elections.
The minister is said to be positioning himself to contest for the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial ticket in Oyo State in 2027.
Adelabu currently oversees a power sector plagued by multiple challenges, including a liquidity crisis, inadequate electricity supply, frequent grid collapses, problematic tariff structures, affordability concerns, and ageing infrastructure.
In June, the World Bank reported that 86.8 million Nigerians lack access to electricity, according to its Energy Progress Report 2025, which tracks Sustainable Development Goal 7.
