The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has clarified its position on the operations of e-hailing services, including Uber and Bolt, at the nation’s airports.
The explanation follows growing public concerns over the Authority’s regulations affecting e-hailing operators at airports.
FAAN on Thursday, said its position is not intended to prevent passengers from using e-hailing platforms or restrict their access to such services.
The Authority, rather explained that its measures are aimed at ensuring that e-hailing operations at airports are conducted within a framework that guarantees passenger safety, security, accountability and convenience.
According to FAAN, the objective is to establish a structured system for e-hailing services that protects passengers while ensuring that operators comply with the necessary airport regulations.
