The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced March 25, 2026, as the date for its forthcoming Zonal Congress, while its National Congress has been scheduled to hold from March 27 to March 28, 2026.
The decision, discovered by 9News Nigeria, was reached following consultations by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen internal democracy and consolidate party structures across the federation.
According to party sources, the Zonal Congress slated for March 25 will involve the election of zonal executives across the six geopolitical zones of the country.
Several delegates from states within each zone are expected to participate in the exercise, which will be conducted in accordance with the party’s constitution and guidelines.
The National Congress, scheduled for March 27–28, will bring together delegates from across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The congress is expected to deliberate on key party matters and oversee the election or ratification of national officers.
According to party officials, the necessary arrangements are being put in place to ensure a transparent, credible, and hitch-free process.
Committees are also expected to be constituted to supervise the conduct of both congresses.
The APC leadership also called on members to remain united and committed to the ideals of the party, assuring stakeholders that the congresses will reflect the collective will of its members.
