BREAKING: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party winner of the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.
Adeleke secured 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 444,815 votes.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, finished third with 17,180 votes.
The declaration followed the collation of results from all 30 Local Government Areas of the state.
Announcing the final result at the INEC collation centre in Osogbo, the Returning Officer, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, declared Adeleke the winner after he secured the highest number of votes cast in the keenly contested election.
With the final figures, Adeleke defeated Oyebamiji by a margin of 66,252 votes.
The victory gives Adeleke another four-year mandate to govern Osun State, having first emerged governor in the 2022 governorship election.
The final result as declared by INEC is:
Ademola Adeleke — Accord: 511,067 votes
Bola Oyebamiji — APC: 444,815 votes
Najeem Salaam — ADC: 17,180 votes
The margin of victory stands at 66,252 votes, with Adeleke recording the highest total vote count in the election.
The 2026 Osun governorship election was held on Saturday, August 15, with results subsequently collated across the state before the final declaration.
