Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez opted for an intimate wedding ceremony held in the comfort of their own living room.
The couple, who have lived much of their relationship in the public eye, opted against a lavish ceremony for the occasion, choosing instead a familiar space where they share their everyday family life.
Georgina explained the decision in an interview with Vogue, saying the couple wanted to exchange their vows in a place that represents their everyday family life.
“We chose the living room where we have breakfast, lunch and dinner, where we live our everyday life,” she said.
According to Georgina, the couple wanted their children to associate the space with a special family memory for years to come.
“In 30 years, I want our children to think: something beautiful happened here at this table, our parents exchanged their wedding vows,” she added.
Regardless of their global fame and wealth, Ronaldo and Georgina chose to keep the ceremony private and focused on their immediate family, rather than staging a lavish celebration as fans would’ve expected.
Meanwhile, Georgina revealed that a larger celebration involving family and friends will be held in the future.
Ronaldo and Georgina have long presented themselves as a close-knit family, frequently sharing moments involving their children and their life together.
For Ronaldo and Georgina, the living room was not simply a convenient location. It was the place where ordinary family moments happen.
