President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to remain focused on good governance and use his electoral victory to strengthen his relationship with the people of the state.
Tinubu made the remarks on Thursday when Adeleke visited him at the Presidential Villa in Abuja and presented his Certificate of Return following his victory in the Osun State governorship election held in August.
Addressing the governor, the President said, “You did not conquer anybody. You won an election.”
Tinubu also advised Adeleke to “expand your coast,” urging him to broaden his political reach and build solid relationships.
The President also encouraged the governor to show appreciation to the people of Osun through his performance in office, rather than prioritising celebrations over governance.
He stressed on the importance of delivering good governance and ensuring that the people benefit from Adeleke’s mandate.
