AS Roma president, James Pallotta has revealed that the Serie A giants are, “already talking to Barcelona” in relation to signing their star forward, Lionel Messi.
Juventus brought in Cristiano Ronaldo to Italy this summer with the Portugal star joining from Real Madrid.
Juventus have won Serie A for the past seven seasons and the signing of Ronaldo should strengthen their hold on the division.
Roma ended last season in third place, with Napoli Juve’s closest rivals.
Pallotta also claimed that it would not be easy for Ronaldo in Italy, while adding that he was on the line for Messi as a way to beat the Turin side.
“He is a fantastic player, but in Italy it will be more difficult for him,” Pallotta said, according to Il Messaggero.
“Will we buy a top player? We are already talking to Barcelona about Messi.”
