When the Blue and the Red flaming parts of London clash tomorrow, Saturday 18th August, it’ll be a tale of two neigbours in an unending war for a right of dominance. Every pass, every shot, every save, and every goal will light up the arena to what will be an unforgettable evening of football brilliance.
In the opening weekend of the English Premier League, Chelsea came out with a thumping 3-0 win over their opponent, while Arsenal were stunned to a 2-nil defeat at the Emirates stadium last Sunday. Tomorrow, it’ll be time for both Chelsea and Arsenal to slug out against each other for the bragging right in the city of London. So the question is, who will have the loudest shout?
Maurizio Sarri of Chelsea will be happy to have every player in his team fit for the encounter, except Cesc Fabregas who is still recovering from a knee injury. For Arsenal, there are a few injury problems for new coach, Unai Emery to think of. Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who started Arsenal’s first game last Sunday, picked up a fracture in his left leg and will be out for at least two months. Sead Kolasinac is also out with a knee injury, while Laurent Koscienly and Carl Jenkinson are both absent with Achilles and ankle injuries respectively. However, Arsenal can look up for some dazzling magic from their array of stars lined up in midfield.
One thing is certain, by 6:30pm tomorrow, the lights at Stamford Bridge, London, will come alive as these two giants of English football lock horns. Will the Blues of Chelsea give Arsenal another devastating blow, or will the Gunners of Arsenal resurrect their campaign with 3 points at Stamford bridge? Only time will tell!
