After three days of intense negotiations that ran through nights and ended in the wee hours of mornings between the Federal Government and organised Labour on the implementation of the N30,000 new minimum wage, the two sides have finally reached an agreement.
At a meeting which started by 7pm on Thursday and ended at about 3am on Friday, both sides finally agreed on the percentage increase for grade levels 7 to 17.
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Dr Festus Keyamo was the first to disclose the breakthrough in a tweet on his Twitter handle at about 11pm Thursday night.

This new development has averted the proposed nationwide strike by workers nationwide which they had planned to embark on if negotiations between the two sides failed.
