Anambra Police Command Parades Six Suspects for Diverting Goods Worth Over Ten Million Naira

Anambra State Police Command has paraded six suspects who allegedly conspired and diverted forty-feet container load of aluminum ingot worth over ten million naira.
The suspects were paraded at the Central Police Station Onitsha, by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Mohammed, before newsmen.
The products belong to Lloyd Industries Limited, Sango Ota in Ogun State, and was loaded in a Mac Truck with Registration No. KRD 771XX driven by one Suleiman Abdulkareem aged forty years and a native of Ibarakpa Local Government Area of Oyo state who conspired with five others and trans-loaded the goods in two Steyr Trucks with registration number ABH389XA and UGH434XR.
The products were brought to Scrap Market at Mbanefo street Onitsha, where the prospective buyer, Godswill Ebirim aged 55years of Okwe in Onuimo Local Government Area Imo state, who has already bought the goods at 2.5 million naira was arrested at Zenith bank Port Harcourt street branch where they went to collect the money.
The other four suspects are forty eight year old Mr. Abdullahi Umar, a native of Jabiri in Funtua local government area of Kastina State, Alhaji Aliyu Idris aged Fifty two years and a native of Matsai, Katsina state, Mr. Dickson Ada aged fifty five years, a native of Usenu in Ago Local Government Area, Edo State and Mr. Friday Kihodaro aged forty two from Uhehode in Esi council area Edo State
Briefing newsmen, SP Haruna said that the the suspects and the goods were brought to the Police station where they confessed to the crime while the trucks carrying the goods were impounded for further necessary action.
He added that following intelligence report, the police operatives attached to Central Police Station Onitsha intercepted the two trucks conveying aluminium ingot used in the production of many aluminum products such as pots, spoon among others, revealing that the real owners of the product have been identified.
The Police PPRO advised members of the public to be cautious and always check the legality of the businesses they involve themselves in, and find out the genuineness of their business transaction.
In their reactions, Mr. Suleiman Abdulkareem who is the principal suspect and an official driver of Lloyd Industries in Ogun State, accepted that he conspired with Abdullahi Umar and Alhaji Idris in diverting the goods which was to be conveyed to Apapa wharf.
While Mr. Godswill Ebirim who is the prospective buyer also confirmed that he financed conveying the goods to Onitsha with four hundred thousand naira.
