Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State has once again put smiles on the faces of civil servants in the State as he made sure that they received their new minimum wage today, 10th March.

9news Nigeria recalls that this is not the first time Umahi is paying the workers their new minimum wage on the 10th of the Month.

In January, and February this year, the civil servants also received their new Minimum wage on the 10th.

Speaking to 9News Nigeria over the new development, Umahi’s Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Francis Nwaze, said Umahi has earned a chieftaincy tittle as “Enyi ndi Oru 1″which means workers’ friend by the Nigeria Labour Congress of Ebonyi State because of how good they have felt in the administration of Governor David Nweze Umahi.

According to him,
it has been story of success as the Governor doesn’t just think about their salaries or pension but also thinks on how to empower them through various schemes and programmes.

He said : “Many have been wondering how the Ebonyi State issue of minimum wage has remained a huge success as the Governor, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, FNSE, FNATE, has maintained the tempo of paying both the workers salaries and pension on the 10th of every month, effecting the new minimum wage even as some other States are still struggling to pay for the first time.”

“Few hours ago, the Ebonyi workforce received rains of alerts in their phones confirming the payment of their March Salaries on the 10th of the Month following the express instruction from the Governor to the Accountant General of the State and Council Chairmen to ensure compliance in the payment of the new Minimum wage in Salaries and Pension Today.”

“Recall that since January, 2020, the March Salaries and pension payment on 10th is the third in a row which Umahi has regularised the payment of the new Minimum wage.”

“People would wonder how the Governor makes it possible – Umahi has continued to show that he is a Divine Mandate Governor on Divine Mandate mission under Divine Mandate Guidance.”
