Hundreds of Islam groups in Kano State have taken to the street to protest against United States President Donald Trump’s recent comments about alleged Christian persecution in Nigeria.
The demonstrators, who gathered on Saturday, condemned Trump’s threat of possible military intervention, describing it as an attempt by America to control Nigeria’s resources.
Protesters carried placards with an inscriptions such as “We condemn Trump’s threat to attack Nigeria” and “There is no Christian genocide in Nigeria”.
Video footage circulating online showed youths marching, calling for global condemnation of Trump’s alleged comments, and urging Nigerians to defend the country’s sovereignty.

The members said they viewed the comment as provocative and capable of inciting tension.
President Trump had earlier designated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” and warned that the U.S might act If killings of Christians persisted.
However, the Nigerian government has dismissed the genocide claims, insisting that the reports are false and politically motivated.
