The Leaders and Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the South East Zone have resolved to continue to support the Next level transformation agenda of the Federal Government to take the Nation to greater heights.

The Stakeholders made the commitment during a meeting in Enugu on Thursday.

Speaking at the meeting, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engineer David Nweze Umahi thanked the Stakeholders for their zeal in attending the meeting.

He commended the Leader of the APC in the South East, Senator Ken Nnamani for his sterling leadership of the Party in the Zone.

“When you see the caliber of Igbo Leaders that are here, we should be happy that we are going back to play the role of Igbo man. An Igbo man is known for playing the politics of the Centre.”

While restating belief in the APC Administration, Governor Umahi expressed commitment to support the transformation of the Party in the South East Zone.

“The only way we can grow APC in the South East is to have respect for one another, nobody can do this work alone. 99% of the Leaders of Ebonyi State are here. The spirit of I can do it alone should be jettisoned, otherwise, of what use is ruling the party if you can’t win elections. So if we have to win elections, then you have to carry everyone along. Everybody is important.”

“In our Local Government Congresses, everybody is going back to their Local Government Areas and they share the position across the Wards. If we are together, we can win elections, let us stop castigating ourselves. The Igbo man is becoming a laughing stock in our Nation Nigeria.

“On Anambra elections, I want to appeal that when Mr. President raises anyone’s hand, everyone should surrender.”

Governor Umahi while appealing to Stakeholders of the Zone to be in Imo State on 9th September, 2021 to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari, said the State would soon embark on massive projects commissioning.

He also appealed to the members of the Party to sheath their swords and support Senator Andy Uba in the upcoming election in Anambra State to enable him to come out of the outing victorious.

The Leader of APC in the South East, Senator Ken Nnamani attributed the large turnout of Stakeholders of the party to the meeting to their enthusiasm to be part of the Next level transformation of the APC-led government in the Federation.

“Many of you who have been to Abakaliki will experience what is called cultural shock because of the massive transformation going on in the State, so APC is finding its feet in the South East.”

He commended Governor David Nweze Umahi and his counterpart of Imo State Hope Uzodimma for the procurement and furnishing of the APC Zonal office in Enugu.

Senator Nnamani said the APC in the Zone is poised to assume the position of reputable rallying point in the Nation by winning all elections both in the upcoming Governorship election in Anambra State in November and other National outings.

“We are here to reassure ourselves that we are doing the right thing, with the Ward Congress done and the Local Government Congress coming up on Saturday, I am told to address my people to work as a team.”

Senator Nnamani directed the respective State Chairmen of APC in the Zone to proceed to swear in elected ward Executives to avoid any lacuna in the leadership of the Party at any level across the Zone.

He encouraged members of the Party to spend more time fashioning out ways of being victorious during elections instead of indulging in criticisms of their fellow members.

The Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Chief Uche Ogah expressed confidence in the APC leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and emphasized his readiness to work in harmony with Stakeholders to deliver the South East to the APC in future elections. He expressed pride in having Governor David Umahi in APC, believing that with him, Abia State will become an APC state come 2023.

In a goodwill message, the Ebonyi State Acting Caretaker Committee Chairman of the APC, Chief Stanley Emegha thanked members of the APC in the Zone for their commitment to the prosperity of the Party.

“If Nigeria is looking for People who can pilot the affairs of the Nation, Ebonyi will borrow them one. We have an already made commodity, and I can assure you that Nigeria can be great again”
