We Remain Undeterred, Unshakeable!
The APC young stakeholders Media Office on behalf of Chief Uche Nnaji, the Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Enugu State will like to draw the attention of the public as well as relevant security agencies on the assassination attempt on the life of our principal, Chief Uche Nnaji by agents of darkness in the Coal City State. The public will recall that the convoy of Chief Nnaji came under serious attack at about 9.00pm on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 by assailants believed to be agents of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Our principal was on his way back to his Akpugo home country in Nkanu West Local Government area after the day’s campaign routines when these soulless and desperate
political charlatans launched their deadly attack.
Enugu State in the last few weeks has been turned to hot bed with incessant attacks and killings of political players, especially of the opposition camp. The attack on our principal is really not flabbergasting as his acceptance has remained a torn in the flesh of the ruling PDP. We are therefore not caught by surprise from an action that is best described as a feckless but dangerous and atrocious move by a party that faces imminent defeat.
We will like to express our appreciation to God Almighty for His divine protection on our principal. We also thank the security details of our principal who displayed gallantry engaging the AK-47 wielding gunmen in heavy gun duel. These soulless attackers, riding on tricycle (Keke NAPEP) and motorcycles
actually laid siege with a view to ambushing our principal on his return from the campaign rally, and on sighting the convoy of Chief Nnaji opened fire.
The unfortunate experience which took place at a place beside Fidelity Bank located at Agbani, the Headquarters of Nkanu East Local Government just when the convoy was detouring from a return from the campaign rally had Chief Nnaji’s car riddled with several bullets while two of his aides lost their lives
in the attack.
The Media Office as well as All Progressives Congress (APC) Young Stakeholders hereby use this medium to condemn in its entirety the unfortunate incident of this unwarranted attack on Chief Uche Nnaji (Nwakaibe). We therefore call on the security agencies to do their job by ensuring proper investigations and ensure all perpetrators of this heinous crime are brought to book and prosecuted. We also will like to advise the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to allow for level playing field for all contestants. The Governor and his agents should prove to the world that the ‘do-or-die’ politics that the PDP is idiosyncratic with is a thing of the past.
We are not unaware that the meteoric rise and popularity of our principal, Chief Uche Nnaji is a source of worry and migraine to the outgoing PDP in the State. The handwriting on the walls which has clearly shown that Chief Uche Nnaji is the preferred choice of the electorates is why he is their target of attack. We want to equally assure the good people of Enugu State to rest assured that such unfortunate incidence will not happen anymore when he emerges the Governor of Enugu state.
