Barcelona have taken a unanimous decision to sign England forward, Marcus Rashford, permanently from Manchester United following his impressive spell on loan at the Camp Nou.
Rashford has caught the eye with his form and impact, convincing the Catalan giants to activate a €30 million buy option to secure his long term future at the club.
Luis Miguelsanz of Sport in Spain reports that the move is already agreed in principle, with no intention of renegotiating the fee. He wrote, “Barca will use the €30 million option to buy the player permanently in a deal that won’t be discussed, because Manchester United won’t reduce their asking price by even one euro.
“The Catalan club thinks this price is fair and not too high, considering the player’s skills and how much similar players in this position are worth, which could go up a lot.”
Barcelona are also monitoring Tottenham Hotspur captain Cristian Romero, who is believed to be open to a move in the summer despite being under contract until 2029. Gabriel Sans of Mundo Deportivo revealed that Romero, 27, is considering a new challenge when the transfer window opens.
Meanwhile, speculation continues around Sergio Ramos, who left Mexican side Monterrey in December and is now eyeing a return to Spain. The 39-year-old defender has been linked with both Real Madrid and Sevilla, though Sevilla’s sporting director, Antonio Cordon, has insisted there is “no financial possibility” of a reunion.
Juanfe Sanz told El Chiringuito, “It’s not the first time he’s offered himself to Real Madrid when things were tough. He also mentioned that he’s always ready to join Sevilla, because the two teams he loves the most are Real Madrid and Sevilla.”
