In a surprise move, the Plateau State Government has sacked five Commissioners, citing the need for a change in leadership to drive development in the state. In a press statement signed by the Secretary to State Government, the affected Commissioners are:
1. Chrysantus Dawam – Budget and Economic Planning.
2.Noel Nkup -Youths and Sports.
3.Jamila Tukur -Tourism, Culture and Hospitality.
4. Professor Obed Goselle – Science and Technology.
5. Sure Musa – Commerce and Industry.
According to the statement, the government has, however, announced their replacements, who are expected to bring fresh ideas and energy to their respective roles.
The new Commissioners are:
-Joy Ramnap, a former Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, who will take over as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning.
-Dr Sunday Alex – Commerce and Industry.
-Sylvanus Dangote – Tourism, Culture and Hospitality.
-Dr. Nicolas Bamnong – Science and Technology.
-Cornelius Doeyok -Youth and Sports.
The statement further extends Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s appreciation and best wishes in their future endeavors.
