The Chairman Benue Traditional Council,Prof.James Ortese Ayatse roars, promise to bring to bring to book all the Traditional rulers involved in Banditary, Killings and kidnapping in the area.

This was containened in a statement made alvailable to the public via his personal assistant on Media and ICT, Freddie Adamgbe.

The statement read:

Worried over the weighty allegations leveled against some traditional rulers in Sankera axis of Tiv nation on their complicity in the banditry and breach of peace in the area, the Paramount Ruler of the Tiv nation, Orcivirigh Prof James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse CFR, has resolved to look into the weighty allegations and take urgent and appropriate actions to address the situation so as to restore the confidence of the general public in the traditional institution.

Consequently, the Begha u Tiv assured that he will leave no stone unturned in his efforts to permanently bring peace to the once boisterous economic hub of Benue by collaborating with the Benue State Government and the law enforcement agencies to fish out those that have continued to instigate criminality in Sankera.

Orcivirigh Ayatse stressed that the role of traditional rulers is to guarantee the safety and protection of traditional and cultural values of their people and not to compound their plight saying if they have compromised the standard practices expected of them they shall not be spared.

He warned that efforts by some enemies of the people to silence those with useful information for fishing out the culprits and their collaborators in the criminality will not be taken kindly. He further called on government and security agencies to ensure the protection of all informants with relevant information on the crisis.

He commended the leaders in Sankera and the Bishop of Katsina Ala Diocese Most Rev Bundepuun Dugu and other members of the clergy for their unwavering efforts and the crucial meetings aimed at restoring peace in the area and urged them to sustain such efforts in order to achieve the desired results.

He regretted that despite the tough times the people are facing, the youths in Sankera have chosen to collaborate with enemies to unleash more terror in their communities by destroying the economy and farm produce and there is the urgent need to find lasting solution to the menace.

He however, urged the people of Sankera to have strong faith in the power of God who is the only one who can touch the hearts of the bad elements to stop terrorizing their land.
