It was an emotional moment at the public memorial for rightwing youth organizer Charlie Kirk in Glendale, Arizona, Erika Kirk, told thousands in attendance that she forgives the man accused of killing her husband.
Erika Kirk, the widow of the conservative activist, said on Sunday she forgives Tyler Robinson, the suspected killer of her husband.
“My husband, he wanted to save young men just like the one who took his life”, she said.
“That man, the young man – I forgive him. I forgive him because it was what Christ did. And it’s what Charlie would do”.

Her words brought the stadium crowd to their feet in applause.
The 22-year-old Tyler Robinson has been charged with fatally shooting Kirk on September 10 at Utah Valley University. He could face death penalty If convicted
Speaking further, Erika revealed she has left the decision on Robinson’s fate to take authority.
“I’ll be honest. I want the government to decide this. I do not want that man’s blood on my ledger”, she said.
Erika, now stepping into her husband’s role as leader of Turning Point USA, vowed to continue his work.
“The answer to hate is not hate”, she added.
“The answer we know from the gospel is love and always love – love for our enemies and love for those who persecute us”.
