~ PLEDGES TO PROVIDE FREE LEGAL SERVICES TO INMATES AWAITING TRIAL

Nnewi was agog today, 28th Nov, 2021 as Chief Olisa metuh, the former National publicity Secretary of PDP celebrates His 56th birthday in a grande style. This event held @ various correctional centers in the Federation. Nnewi being the home town of Metu wasn’t left out in this celebration. Recall that due to the biased judgement of the Federal High court in 2020, Metuh celebrated His 55th birthday at Kuje Correctional Centre after which He became victorious at the appeal court when justice took it’s course.
Chief metuh who was present at Kuje today to celebrate with the prison inmates was ably represented by Dr. Ikenna Ubah @ Nnewi Correctional centre to mark His birthday accompanied by friends, relatives and well wishers. The ACC Incharge of Nnewi, Barr Raymond Okonkwo welcomed Chief Metuh and His entourage which was followed by opening prayers by the Catholic Chaplain, Rev. Fr. James Enemuo.
Metuh in His address, thanked God for a fulfilled life at 56 and shared His travails while at Kuje custodial centre which motivated Him to look deeper into some problems of the Nigerian Correctional Centres and vowed to always contribute His quota to support them. Thus, He gifted the inmates several food items, cooked food and drinks. Secondly, He assured inmates awaiting trials of His support through His “Beyond the Walls Initiative” to provide legal assistance with promising lawyers so as to facilitate their cases as fast as possible.
To crown it up, He pledged to erect a world class Vocational Training Institute and School to enable inmates gain maximum reformation and education through skill acquisition and formal education.
This was followed by the cutting of cake by the celebrant flanked by the ACC Incharge, Chaplain and other friends of Chief Metuh present. The ACC Incharge and One of the inmates on behalf of His colleagues, prayed and thanked Metuh for His Philanthropy.
Also present at the event were PDP Anambra State Woman leader, Lady Justina Nwafor, The PDP South East Chief Protocol Officer, Hon Echezona Agba, PDP Nnewi North Deputy Chairman and Secretary, Hon Ernest Ajero and Prince Chijioke Ofodile respectively.
