Chioma Adeleke, wife of Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, has revealed how the award-winning singer goes beyond being a husband to support her personal ambitions.
Chioma, popularly known as Chef Chi, disclosed this in an interview with Noire TV’s Aziza Major, shared that Davido’s encouragement has been instrumental in helping her navigate life’s challenges and pursue her passion outside family responsibilities.
“David actually cares about my dreams”, she said. ‘I have faced a lot of challenges overtime, so he would always ask me, ‘Chi apart from all this, what do you actually want to do?.
“We have plans and things coming up, hopefully next year. He really cares about the things I want to do apart from being his wife and mother of his kids”.
When asked about her graceful public persona, Chioma credited her upbringing, saying it’s something she naturally learned from her mother.
“My mom is just like this. So I’ve always been like this”, she said with a smile.
The conversation ended on a cheerful note with Chioma expressing excitement about her ongoing wedding celebrations.
The couple had their traditional wedding in June 2024, in Lagos, after a private court ceremony in March.
The Afrobeats singer had earlier revealed that their white wedding would be a lavish event, with over $3.7 million already spent in preparations.
Davido and Chioma have been together since their university days, share three children including twins born in October 2023.
Their relationship has endured public scrutiny and personal tragedy, including the loss of their first child, Ifeanyi, in 2022.
