On a tragic note, no fewer than 20 persons have been confirmed dead in the last two weeks in Bade Local Government Area of Yobe State, following the collapse of houses due to heavy rainfall.

The Executive Chairman of the Local Government Area, Babagana Ibrahim told newsmen that many residents are now taking refuge in two designated camps.

He says the government is providing the immediate needs for the displaced persons such as food items, medical care, hygiene kits, clean drinking water, and food to protect them from any disease outbreaks.

Mr Ibrahim is however calling on the federal government and donor agencies to tender support to the affected commuinity.
