What does it mean to conquer the world?
To conquer the world is simply to turn the world to yourself. To be the best in whatever you’re doing to the extent that the world can’t do without talking about you. You are on top of your game, successful and achieving your full destiny that God created you to fulfil before you were born into this world.
Everyone has a dream of what they wish to be in life. It is good to understand that every one that is born into this one has come with a special talent and gift from his creator with which he can excel and conquer the world. No one else has what you have because it is uniquely just for you and you alone. If you don’t achieve it, it will become untapped and even if someone else could do the same thing, it will never be the way you would have done it. Just the way the iris of your eyes and your thumbprint is different from anyone else’s, your destiny can never be replicated.
In a world full of dreams and ambitions, many of us long to conquer the world and leave our mark. But how can we turn this seemingly impossible feat into a reality? - Conquer your own self
A Greek philosopher, Zeno of Citium was quoted as saying that “Man conquers the world by conquering himself,” and this saying is very true. To conquer the world you must first of all conquer yourself and be morally sound in your mind and your actions.
You may ask me how do you conquer yourself?
To conquer yourself, you must be able to conquer those bad habits and lifestyle that deters or diverts your energy and focus on where you want to be and where you are going. One of the greatest forces that can delay or deter someone from reaching their goals in life is immortality. Sexual immorality among other bad habits is the killer of destiny that a conqueror must conquer in him or herself.
If you are a person who is determined to make a difference in life and be successful in what you are doing, then you must be able to identify what you want to be and where you want to be. Then identify the methods, systems and ways that could lead you to your destination. After determining those, then you find out that there are things in your life that are working against your plan to get to your destination. Those things that form as obstacles in your way are the things you must conquer by yourself.
The greatest obstacle a person has is himself or herself. Conquer yourself first before you set out to conquer the world.
- Be disciplined and conquer the world around you
To be able to conquer the world, you must be disciplined, and be able to say no to the things that others enjoy doing. The truth is that every champion became a champion because they decided to avoid what others are doing, eating or indulging in, and the champion always trains more than his peers even when it is uncomfortable for them. The best student in the class is the one who while others are playing, he or she is busy with his books, reading or writing, and at home, while other students are watching TV or playing around, he is studying and focusing on his schoolwork. Excellence does not come by chance, it is a result of deliberate consistent effort to excel.
To conquer the world around you means that you remain exceptional in whatever environment you find yourself. This means that what moves others does not move you if it does not go in line with your vision and dream in life. You do not do things because others are doing it, but you weigh the environment if it is detrimental to your dream or beneficial to your aspirations. If you’re not able to conquer the world around you then you’re not gonna move far because they will drag you back each time you want to make a step further.
- Be Responsible.
I usually ask my mentees this question during sessions and 99% of the time, the answers were always the same. I ask them, do you want to be addressed as an irresponsible person? irresponsible boy, girl, man, woman father, mother, brother, sister, husband, wife, leader or what have you? And each person always says No, I want to be known as a responsible person. The fact is that to be a responsible person then, you must learn to be responsible for your actions, and do not look for a way to shift blame to another person. That is the simple meaning of being responsible.
When you know that you want to be responsible for your actions, you now have the natural tendency to be careful the way you live your life, and then your life becomes better. You know that you will be held accountable for your actions, and then it makes you to be the best in whatever you do.
Show me someone who always shifts blame for their wrong actions, and I will show you the person is always a failure in their endeavours because they will always find a way to cover their wrongdoings and lie and cheat to be able to make themselves come out clean and not be responsible for their wrongdoing. This lifestyle will make the person a naturally irresponsible person by default and they will never be successful in what they are doing.
So to conquer your world, you must choose to be a responsible person. Accept when you’re wrong and find a way to avoid the mistake and move on.
- Develop the mindset of a Conqueror
To conquer the world, it all starts with the right mindset. A conqueror sees challenges as opportunities for growth and embraces failure as a stepping stone to success. They have a strong belief in their abilities and refuse to settle for mediocrity.
