HRH Eze Omadike, PG Okey Opara, UPA Calls For Peace In Umuoma Community

The Traditional Ruler of Umuoma Autonomous Community, in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State Nigeria, HRH Eze Morrison SJ Eke -PhD together with the President General- Chief Okechukwu Opara (DIKEOHA) and the entire leadership of Umuoma People’s Assembly (UPA) have appealed for peace and absolute tranquility in the land of Umuoma.

At the community stakeholders’ leadership meeting held Tuesday in the palace of the traditional ruler, Eze Eke pleaded with his subjects to sheath their swords and embrace peace and harmony because according to the Royal Father, quarreling, misunderstanding, hate, greed and acrimony does not pay any body any good and such cannot progress the community.

The meeting was summoned by Eze Omadike inline with the directives of the UPA to restructure the election process for peace making in Umuoma Nekede.

Recall that towards the preparation plan for town election, interim caretaker was set up, saddled with the responsibility to consolidate the gains of previous administration and to usher in the incoming elected officers in accordance to the schedule of the Umuoma (UPA) electoral guideline put in place by the electoral committee.

The monarch however stated that individual differences are common in human nature across communities but realigned that resolution is key to progress. Omadike added that any action by Umuoma people should be targetted at bringing in harmony, good understanding and peace in the best interest of the community.

While interacting with the audience, Eze Eke requested every Umuoma Son and Daughter to refrain from any action cum all sorts of mindsets enemical to the interest of the community.

The President General, on behalf of the UPA, pleaded with both the outgoing and the interim leadership to chat a common front to progress the community. PG Opara pleaded with the generality of Umuoma people to consider the programs and policies of UPA as best situable for the progress of Umuoma Nekede.

The stakeholders resolved that town election will take place on the said date in April and accepted the interim appointees as democratic. There was an expression of happiness and oneness while stakeholders charged the interim officers to show maximum capacity across various towns. The interim government was charged to respect the outgoing Excos and call on them for leadership advice where need be.

Umuogba town was asked to retain status-quo pending the outcome of the judgement of the court. The other four towns were approved for interim caretaker.

The meeting rose after series of deliberations and responses were taken from the following stakeholders; Pastor Richard , Igwe Njima, Ralph kamalu ,Nze basil, PPA Areke Oparanozie, Eskele, Ekwenche, Apostle Lalamu, Emma Onyewuenyi, Apex Youth leader Nanas Aharanwa and a motivational pet talk from Elder Goddy Obiyor’s was acknowledged.
