Majority Leader Imo House of Assembly IMHA, Chief Kanayo Onyemaechi has reeled out reasons to support the motion for food security not only in Imo state but in Nigeria at large.
The motion was brought before the hallow chamber IMHA as Chiefly sponsored and Co -sponsored by other Honourable members present at the plenary.
Speaking, the Majority Leader, Rt Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi hinted that the masses are in excruciating condition of hunger because of the economical meltdown and as such have to engage more on farming and Agro revolution across rural communities in the state.
In support of a motion brought to the floor of the House earlier Tuesday afternoon the 8th of October, 2024, the Member representing Owerri West state constituency, and Majority Leader IMHA, Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi added his voice to that effect.
While highlighting the importance of the motion and the timely arrival of the motion, Chief Onyemaechi pointed out that the population density of Imo State being 5.4 million, has made it imperative for the motion on food security to be given a nod so it can see the light of the day.
The Leader of the House noted that food security is one aspect of a measure that needs to be put in place so as to ensure the safety of lives of Imolites.
By extension, Chief Kanayo Onyemaechi sighted instances of measures and approaches by individuals in Imo to ensure they contribute their own quota towards curbing hunger amongst Imo People.
He therefore beckoned on other Honourable Members to see to the speedy passage of this motion into law by lending their own voices in support of the motion on Food Security as raised on Tuesday.
The motion further called for emergency need to improve food security in Imo state and Nigeria at large. His efficient support to this wonderful motion was commendable because Kanayo Onyemaechi really captured the excruciating conditions and HardTimes bedevilling the masses at this present time as 9News reports.
The motion also aggravated more love for the Owerri West member and the entire House of Assembly members who supported this motion while waiting for its speedy acceleration.
