All Progressive Congress Party, Owerri Municipal, Imo State had a landmark leadership meeting at the Owerri Municipal headquarters, following massive preparation for the upcoming November Governorship election in the state.
Our correspodent reports that the Imo APC Chairman, Hon. MacDonald Ebere, PhD, passionately called upon the party’s leadership in Owerri Municipal Council to wholeheartedly support the re-election bid of Dist.Sen Hope Uzodinma’s.
Highlighting the significance of the IMO CHARTER OF EQUITY, Hon. MacDonald Ebere stressed the crucial role Owerri Municipal must play in ensuring Governor Uzodinma’s victory in the forthcoming November 2023 elections.
Hon. Ugochukwu Obodo, the House of Assembly member representing Owerri Municipal State Constituency, played a pivotal role in convening the Apex leadership meeting, providing a platform for the party members to discuss the way forward.
The meeting, which brought together influential APC leaders and stakeholders, served as a crucial opportunity to strategize and galvanize support for Gov. Uzodinma’s second term aspirations.
Hon. MacDonald Ebere, a distinguished academic scholar and dynamic political leader, drew attention to the essence of the charter of equity, an equitable principle that seeks to distribute political power and opportunities fairly among different zones or communities. In his address, he highlighted the need for Owerri Municipal to fulfill its role in upholding this principle and ensuring that Governor Uzodimma secures a well-deserved re-election.
“Owerri Municipal, as a crucial constituency in Imo State, must actively support Governor Hope Uzodimma’s re-election bid. Our commitment to the charter of equity demands that we rally behind him, recognizing the remarkable achievements he has brought to our great state.
“To achieve success in this project, we must build bridges of lasting peace between indigenes and non-Indigenes in the municipality, go on visitations of peace to aggrieved supporters of the party, and finally, engage in robust door-to-door campaigns,” Hon. MacDonald Ebere asserted.
“To reinforce his call, Hon. MacDonald Ebere referenced numerous past meetings and statements where he had championed Governor Uzodimma’s second term ambitions and actively called for the mobilization of new members into the APC in Owerri Municipal Council.
“Through meticulous analysis of his public engagements, the APC Chairman has consistently displayed unwavering support for the Governor’s agenda and encouraged others to do the same.
Hon. Ugochukwu Obodo, a dedicated representative for Owerri Municipal State Constituency, expressed his gratitude to Hon. MacDonald Ebere and the party leaders for their unwavering commitment to the development of the council.
While thanking the leadership for their commitment in the last house of assembly election that saw to his emergence, he further emphasized the importance of unity within the party to achieve success in the upcoming elections.
The leadership meeting culminated in a unanimous resolution to forge ahead with a robust grassroots campaign and mobilization strategy. The leaders vowed to work tirelessly to attract new members into the APC, while also strengthening the party’s existing structures in Owerri Municipal Council.
