Following the continous security challenges bedevilling the country, Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria led by -His Imperial Youthfulness, Amb. Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel has assured NIGERIANs of their resolve to take serious responsibility to partner with security intelligence ti stern down Insecurity in NIGERIA.
This is contained in a speech delivered by the President, Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria (ELFON) at the 3rd Inaugural meeting of Project Unity Nigeria Ambassadors in Enugu on the 11th January, 2021 and made available to 9News Nigeria Owerri.

Let me start by thanking the 340 of you (20 per local government in Enugu state) for volunteering yourselves to champion the course of Unity and Peace in our dear Nation Nigeria.
Never loose sight on the fact that the terrorists in Nigeria are not letting up. The more they are killed, the more their remnants try to let you know they still exist. They and their sponsors are on a clear mission to embarrass the government and make her appear clueless, weak and unpopular.
The President and our Armed forces might be struggling to contain the security situation in Nigeria. But, there is nowhere in the world where the security situation is perfect. America, UK, Israel, and all the countries we like to refer to as “the best”. They still have their internal security issues. Terrorists still take lives and thousands die every year still, AVOIDABLY.
It is sheer irresponsibility and an insult to our collective sensibilities to go to run around with the falsehoods that the current government instigated the spate of insecurity ravaging the South-east, North-east, North-west and that the former administration had security issues under absolute control. I read someone saying that “it was easy”. Haba! Why are we like this? Why are we so quick in insulting the people in authority while we as heads of various social- cultural, ethnic, civil society organizations and student associations are not helping to provide intelligence to support security agencies and government?
Some of you have messaged to let me know that the President may have a hand in the current situation of the Country. I don’t think he caused the insecurity in the Country. He didn’t arm ESN operatives, ISWAP and Bandits. I don’t think the Military armed any militia group either. They rather have been doing their best to combat the terrorists with every legitimate force they can afford except directly partnering with the youth formations as additional information gathering base.
A Chief Executive Officer of a Country or the Armed Forces benefits nothing making their country ungovernable. If there is anybody or any group that could be said to derive any benefits from setting the Nation on fire, it is the opposition of which some of you; the youth Leaders are aiding. But, I will not also say categorically that those of you under my control are part of them.
We must not allow the opposition elements in any guise destroy our Nation Nigeria.
Yes, our National Unity/Peace Confab 2021 didn’t hold due to lack of funds to champion such a lofty confab that would have given a great leeway to solving 50% if not 65% of the issues facing Nigeria today. Not to worry, ELFON under my leadership will do its best in ensuring that the Emerging Leaders National Unity/Peace Confab 2022 is held within the first quarter of this year.
Political leaders must take responsibility. They should, rather than continue to give tacit justification for what is happening in the State, proffer solutions. They should condemn these bloodlettings going on and they should assist security agencies with any information they may have. These information are not provided on radio or TV stations or on social media. Take a walk to the Police office or invite the Police man to your house and share the intelligence you have with him. Again, some of you have reported not to have confidence on any police officer following past incidents. In that case, you can report such intelligence to any of your chapter Coordinators and I can assure you that such report will be acted on for the safety of all.
We may think it doesn’t concern us today, but, I can assure us that for every innocent blood wasted, there must be a repercussion directly on those who had a hand in it. If not now, certainly, soon.
As for who becomes Nigeria’s next President in 2023 as most of you have been wondering on what our stand as Emerging Leaders would be, that will be a discussion for another gathering.
