The member representing owerri -west state constituency in Imo house of assembly and chairman house committee on lands and survey, Hon chief Kanayo Onyemaechi (Dele) has reassured the good people of Nekede community in owerri -west LGA on state government’s commitment in completing the road construction which was abandoned by contractors since the january 14 supreme court judgement.
Addressing newsmen in Owerri, the lawmaker who frowned at the manner the contractors abandoned the work they were mobilized to do simply because of the emergence of a new administration noted that in a few weeks from now, those contractors will resume work having signed an MoU with governor Hope Uzodinma.
“Egbe eji eje ogu” as fondly called acknowledged the contributions of nekede people during his election but quickly advised them not to contradict the duty of the executive arm with the legislative arm as award of road contract is strictly an executive decision while the legislative arm oversights.
The oforola born legislator thanked governor Hope Uzodinma for his intervention which has ensured that the contractors will be back to site soon while calling on his people to exercise patience as the ugly situation of the road will soon be a thing of the past.
