The Lagos State House of Assembly, on Thursday resumed plenary, almost a month after Mudashiru Obasa, was removed as the Speaker of the House.
According to reporters, about 36 lawmakers were present at the sitting, as the embattled former speaker, Obasa, who was impeached over issues of alleged financial misconduct, and abuse of office was absent at the plenary.
During the sitting, the member representing Epe Constituency I Abiodun Tobun commended the economic policy of the Federal Government, saying insecurity in Lagos has been curbed to the barest minimum.
Tobun also moved a motion, asking the House to write a letter of commendation to the presidency for all the impactful initiatives introduced by the Federal Government.
Meanwhile, the lawmaker representing Eti-Osa constituency II, Gbolahan Yishawu, also reeled out various initiatives introduced by the Federal Government, alongside other lawmakers, as the Speaker of the House, Mojisola Meranda, joined in applauding President Bola Tinubu, expressing confidence in his leadership.
According to her, the President has approved loan access for small-scale businesses, noting that the stock market capitalisation is growing, stressing that they were signs that Nigeria is on the right track.
Meranda, therefore noted that President Tinubu is also making significant investments in security, in order to ensure the safety of Nigerians, as she used the opportunity to praise First Lady Remi Tinubu for her dedication to national development.
