Every couple has pet names (sugar, honey, baby, boo…the list goes on and on)—even Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
The Duchess of Sussex revealed her sweet, understated nickname for her beau on camera last year during an interview with Tom Bradby for the ITV special Harry & Meghan: An African Journey.
During the interview, which aired in October, she said “I’ve said for a long time to H—that’s what I call him—it’s not enough to just survive something. That’s not the point of life. You have got to thrive. You have got to feel happy.”
Markle added, “I really tried to adopt this British sensibility of a ‘stiff upper lip.’ I really tried, but I think that what that does internally is probably really damaging.”
But that’s not the only nickname Markle has for “H.” Remember when the Sussexes stepped out for a Hamilton charity performance at London’s Victoria Palace Theater in August 2018? Markle revealed another heartwarming (and totally normal) nickname for her prince.
In the video, the cast and the royal couple gather for a group photo. Markle, ever conscientious, turns to her husband and asks, “My love, can you see?” The cast immediately begins to say “Aww!” and Meghan clutches her chest and starts giggling embarrassingly.
Hey, ain’t no shame in the married game, Meg. (We’d want to whisper sweet nothings in Prince Harry’s ear, too.)
