The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, convened a high-level operational briefing with the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and the nation’s Service Chiefs.
The meeting held at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja today, focused on evaluating the current national security landscape, particularly in regions severely affected by insurgency, banditry, and communal unrest, including the North East, Plateau State, North West, North Central, and South East.
During the closed-door session, the Minister received detailed briefings on military operations in these volatile areas and discussed strategies to strengthen intelligence coordination, enhance troop deployment, and reinforce ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
In his remarks, Minister Badaru reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the Armed Forces with both policy backing and operational tools.
“We are determined to support our gallant troops with the necessary tools and policies needed to win the fight against insecurity and ensure that every Nigerian lives in safety and dignity,” he stated.
