Stakeholders of Nekede town under the aegis of Nekede Federated Union (NFU) have applauded the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Engr M.C. Arimanwa FNSE on the giant strides he has made in the institution.

The stakeholders representing the three autonomous communities of Umuoma, Umualum and Umudibia (of the old Nekede bloc), further lauded the Rector for the massive technological impact which the polytechnic has made under him, attributing it to his penchant for hard work and excellence.

Speaking during a courtesy call on the Rector in his office on Wednesday 2-2-2022, the leader of the group, High Chief Kennedy Zanders, further described Engr Dr M.C. Arimanwa as God-send because he has come to change the narratives of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, thereby placing the name of the community on the vantage of visibility.

According to him, “We are very happy with the beautiful stories about the electric car invented by the polytechnic and other inventions which we hear are on the pipeline.”

Lending his voice, Nze Chris Obinna, one of the delegates, described Dr Arimanwa’s tenure as “glorious” because according to him, the Rector’s stewardship is profusely marked with great developmental advancement in all sectors of the institution. He also observed that the polytechnic under Dr Arimanwa had been steadily on the path of progress, insisting they had never had this great in their community.

Meanwhile, the stakeholders used the opportunity of the visit to plead with the Rector to assist in the burial of their fallen son, Mr Desmond Oparaku, who was a staff of the polytechnic before his passage. They specifically appealed that the access road leading to the deceased’s home be graded.

In his response, the Rector assured the union that his administration was poised to further take the polytechnic to greater heights, because he had got a lot of ideas on practical ways of transforming the school for greater efficiency and visibility.

He also recalled that right from inception, he had set out to promote the name of the polytechnic through excellent service delivery. In his words, “We are making effort to ensure the Federal Polytechnic Nekede gains visibility worldwide. We are also making sure that the name of the school is promoted to a level that it can no longer come down.”

Finally, the Rector assured his visitors of the commitment of the polytechnic towards the rites of passage of their fallen staff, Mr Desmond Oparaku, promising that the institution would contribute its quota towards making the access road to the deceased’s home motorable.

Though some stakeholders, President Generals and Public relation officers from the three arms of Nekede were not carried along in the arrangement of the visit to the federal Polytechnic, the visit was of great importance to Nekede people mostly at this time when the burial of one of their First-class Son, who was a deputy rector administration of the school is closeby.
