Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed that he will contest in the November 2026 general elections, expressing confidence in securing victory.
The announcement came during an extended interview with Channel 14’s program, The Patriots, where Netanyahu discussed key moments of his current term, tensions with Washington, and his Gaza perspective on the ongoing war in Gaza.
When asked If he intended to seek another term, the veteran leader replied “Yes” and again affirmed that he expected to win.

Netanyahu, who leads the right-wing Likud Party, holds the record as Israel’s longest serving Prime Minister, with more than 18 years in total, with interruptions since 1996.
His current administration began with a divisive judicial reform agenda that triggered widespread protests across the country.
Despite facing criticism over his handling of the ongoing Gaza War and hostage situation, Netanyahu remains a dominant force in Israel politics. His Likud bloc, alongside ultra-Orthodox and far-right allies, currently commands significant representation in Knesset.
