Engineer Nwosu-led Mechanical Engineering team of the Federal Polythecnic Nekede Owerri Imo State Nigeria has made a niche in the temple of fame for a successful production of the First ever Electric Car in Nigeria with over 90% local content materials domiciled within the Nigerian soil.

Unveiling the Car at the Engineering Workshop of the Polythecnic, the Rector, Engr Dr Micheal Arimanwa showered encomium on the Engr. Nwosu led team for making FEDPONEK proud mostly at this time when people thought nothing good can come out from the land.

While appreciating this wonderful gesture, the rector of the Polytechnic announced that the school would issue Engr Nwosu a recommendation letter subject to his formal submission of the vehicle from time of conception, research to the last stage of invention.

Speaking on his motivation for this great project, Engr. Nwosu pointed out that the Nigerian environment needed vehicles that would be eco-friendly as a result of the ubiquitous pollution in the ecosystem, adding that the electric car was a solution in circumventing dangerous emissions emanating from the engines of fuel powered Vehicles.

Nwosu further hinted that it took his team up to six months to produce the vehicle, adding that with the production done, he would require just a space of one month to produce More Electric Vehicles to be in use by the public.

However, this is a heart blowing challenge to the Federal Republic of NIGERIA for taking the country this back in the production Industry while the country has kept leveraging on the importation of Vehicles and allied product till date.

The Mechanical Engineering team led by Engr Pius Nwosu had wondered where NIGERIA would have been if such high technological innovations and advancement are encouraged by Government and applauded Rector Arimanwa for his fatherly support for the production of the first electric car by Federal Polythecnic Nekede Owerri.

Meanwhile, history has made itself that the Federal Polytechnic Nekede under Rector Arimanwa has proven to be the Newest Technological Hub of Nigeria, as the first of its kind Electric Car has been manufactured to the chagrin of the leadership pessimists who thought that nothing good can come from NIGERIA.

Information reaching 9News Nigeria reveales that Nigeria have alot of experts and technocrats surfing for a conducive environment to establish and improve the society. But bad governance and the insensitive of leaders are the setbacks the country have.
