Nonsonkwa Arrested For Cyberstalking, Character Defamation, Misinformation And Inciting Civil Unrest- Imo Police Command

Information reaching our news desk from Imo State Police command as signed by the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO ASP OKOYE HENRY, For: Commissioner of Police Imo State Command has confirmed the official arrest of a popular radio broadcaster in the state Nonsonkwa Chinonso Uba.

Against the backdrop of the false alarm raised by the public concerning Nonsonkwa sudden abduction, an alarming report emerged yesterday Sunday evening regarding the alleged abduction of Mazi Theodore Chinonso Uba, popularly known as Nonsonkwa.

According to an eyewitness, “the incident occurred on the evening of October 20, 2024, in front of Teachers’ House along the Owerri/PortHarcourt Road, near Ozisa FM Radio.

“Every effort made to reach him or get his whereabouts as at then proved abortive. One of his line is completely off while one has been ringing without any response!!

“Please, anyone with useful information should not hesitate to reach us or the police. His life is at stake ndi Imo and it will be totally unfair to abandon Nonsonkwa at this trying time.

On this therefore, the Operatives of the Imo State Police Command has arrested Mr. Chinonso Uba (Nonsonkwa) on October 20, 2024, following a written petition from a concerned citizen regarding viral videos, where he engaged in Cyberstalking, Character Defamation, spreading misinformation and inflammatory statements related to the burning of the National Open University (NOUN) Study Center in Nsu, Ehime Mbano LGA, on September 30, 2024, inciting civil unrest.

The Command clarifies that he was not abducted. Nonsonkwa is currently detained at State Headquarters and will be arraigned in court with appropriate charges once a comprehensive investigation is completed.

The Command remains committed to upholding the rule of law and maintaining peace and order in the state, emphasizing that no individual involved in the tragic attack and burning of the NOUN study center will escape full legal consequences.
