The Management of Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH) has debunked a viral video circulating on social media platforms, including Instablog9ja, which falsely claimed that a “shoot out” occurred on campus during the Matriculation Day celebrations.
The video, which has been widely shared, was misinterpreted as a depiction of violence on campus. However, eyewitnesses and school officials have confirmed that the celebration, which ended at 4 pm, was peaceful and enjoyable, with students cooperating fully with guidelines set by the School Management.
The Dean of Students Affairs and Chief Security Officer were on hand to monitor the celebrations and prevent any potential mishaps. Despite the video’s circulation, no reports of violence or unrest have been confirmed.
