As we prepare for the forthcoming Statewide Walk of Loyalty in honour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Governor Dapo Abiodun, CON, it is important to once again set the record straight.
While a few naysayers attempt to downplay the significance of our walk — and even question the relevance of our League — we remain unshaken. The APC Youth League, Ogun State Coordinate, has never been about noise or social media optics. We are progressives with purpose — young people of vision, action, and impact.
For clarity, in 2021, the League embarked on a Statewide Empowerment Initiative championed by the State Executive Members led by Comrade Lamide Lawal. That empowerment drive was not a publicity stunt; it was a sincere effort to uplift members and non-members alike — a bold statement of our League’s commitment to empowerment, inclusion, and long-term development.
Today, that same ideology continues under the dynamic leadership of Comrade Yunus Fayomi, who has remained steadfast in carrying on the League’s mandate of mobilizing young people for progressive change. The baton may have changed hands, but the mission remains the same — to build, to serve, and to advance the principles of progressivism that define our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Those who dismiss our actions today forget that the foundation of every lasting reform is courage. The tough decisions taken by our leaders — President Tinubu and Governor Abiodun — are not acts of recklessness, but necessary steps to rebuild a nation and state that have endured years of decay. We, as young progressives, understand governance beyond social media chatter; we see the bigger picture, and we choose to stand on the side of progress.
As we prepare for this Walk of Loyalty, we march not just in honour of two visionary leaders, but in defense of our shared ideals — commitment, reform, resilience, and responsible citizenship.
To all progressive youths across Ogun State, we say: join us.
Let us walk not only with our feet, but with conviction — for the future we believe in, and the progress we stand for.
Because in the APC Youth League, Ogun Coordinate, we don’t make noise; we make history.
