American music legend and fashion icon, Pharrell Williams is set to release a new biopic movie this year.
The new film titled ‘Piece by Piece’, uses Lego bricks to predict Williams’s early life in Virginia through to his rise to fame, including animated features and his song categories as he recorded five new tracks for the soundtrack.
Williams also produces the film alongside Morgan Neville, who was also behind the documentaries 20 Feet From Stardom and Won’t You Be My Neighbor?
The movie, Piece by Piece is also co-produced by The Lego Group.
“Piece by Piece leaves you with hope and a whole bunch of songs you will not be able to get out of your head.
“Is it a documentary? A biopic? An animated movie? A musical? A character study? You bet – and more. Williams and Neville have taken it apart and put it all back together to perfection.” A film executive from deadline, Pete Hammond said.
The film will be released on 11 October, in the US, followed by its European premiere at the London Film Festival.
Pharrell Williams is notable for music hits such as Happy and as one half of the hip hop and R&B production duo the Neptunes, which he formed in 1992.
