The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has applauded the Enugu state government under Governor Peter Mbah for hosting him at the recent commissioning of some significant projects in the state on Saturday.
Over the weekend , President Tinubu visited Enugu State to familiarize with the people of the State and in the process some projects were commissioned among which is the Enugu state International Conference Center.
Recall that the Enugu state International center is not a prototype of Governor Mbah rather his administration has renovated the edifice and brought it to a standard as proposed by previous administrations.
Another significant milestone recorded at the working visit of President Tinubu was the familiarization he has established with both the people of Enugu State and the South East region en bloc through identifying critical challenges across the South East States as 9News reports.
Meanwhile , rumours have it that President Tinubu’s visit to Enugu state Nigeria was to set up his 2027 political grassrooting in the State irrespective of the political party that is in charge. Enugu is a PDP state but the President has penetrated to Tête-à-Tête with the leaders of the zone in Enugu.
In his words, President Tinubu said, it was a special delight to visit Enugu state on Saturday and inaugurated the laudable projects executed by the administration of Governor Peter Mbah.
“The visit was my first official call this year, and I thank the Enugu state government, the leaders, the people of Enugu, and the South East for the warm reception.
“I commend Governor Mbah for his remarkable leadership in the state. This leadership is evident in the burgeoning infrastructure, enhanced security measures, and improving access to education and healthcare by the citizens
“My administration is committed to completing the Eastern rail line, connecting Port Harcourt to Maiduguri, and will support the development of the Anambra Basin, which is considered rich in oil and gas resources.
“When we work together, we can build a prosperous future for our nation. We are members of one family held by a single umbilical cord; hence, we must work together to develop the Nigeria we desire.
It is expected of President Tinubu’s visit to Enugu state to usher in the needed speed of development and quality governance alongside the inclusivity of the SE zone in the center of administration and appointments. The people are also expecting Mr President to approve the equality of state in the zone while looking forward to the release of Nnamdi Kalu from his long incarceration.
However, it may interest our readers to know that the preponderance of infrastructure unleashed on the state which included the road infrastructure, the setting up of the Distress Response Squad, building of Command and Control Centre with its appurtenances of AI-embedded surveillance cameras, thereby bringing to bear a world class security infrastructure in the state.
Mbah also established some giant strides in the social sector to 260 smart schools, 260 type 2 primary healthcare centres, the construction of Enugu International Hospital, the bullish reactivation of the state-owned dormant assets, International Conference Centre, Hotel Presidential, United Palm Product Limited with the attracted investment of N100 billion, Niger Gas, Sunrise Flour Mills, and so on.
The ongoing construction of New Enugu Smart City to rank with any known city in the world with its huge revenue and tourism potentials. The attraction of foreign direct investment in the downstream water management system to the tune of and 1 million and the trail-blazing achievement of daily generation of 120 million litres of water at the upstream level, and many other projects in the energy, agriculture, trade and investment.
As a matter of fact, the Mbah Administration has over 1000 multi-sectoral projects currently being executed in Enugu state and this may have attracted the visit of President Bola Tinubu for commissioning and political alignment with both the state and the South East.
His visit was accompanied by other South East SE Governors which included, Governor Hope Uzodinma from Imo, Governor Nwaifuru from Ebonyi State, Governor Otti from Abia State, Governor Soludo from Anambra State and Host Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State.
