President Tinubu Urges Collective Sacrifice To Improve Nigeria As He Observes Eid Prayer In Lagos

It is important we bring to our esteemed readers the information that Federal government has maintained the announcement issued to the press concerning the declaration of Monday and Tuesday this week as public holidays to mark the Muslim Eid Salah festivity across the states in Nigeria.

President Tinubu, after Eid prayers in Lagos, emphasized the need for sacrifice to advance the nation, echoing the Chief Imamā€™s sermon on citizenship responsibilities and gratitude towards God.

Tinubu maintained that some level of sacrifice will be required to move Nigeria forward and called on Nigerians mostly the Muslims to show support to this fact.

He spoke with Journalists after joining the Eid-el-Kabir prayers in Lagos, amplifying the theme of the sermon by the Chief Imam of Lagos.

ā€œWe have been told by the Chief Imam how we can follow the path of sacrifice. The sacrifice required of a good citizen. Citizenship comes with responsibilities. As citizens, what do we need to do to be committed members of our society? Yes, that is sacrifice; loving your country. Loving your neighbours. Sharing what you have with each other. And to always be thankful to Almighty God,ā€ the President said.

Recall that he FG has declared Monday 17th, and Tuesday 18th June 2024 public holidays to mark this yearā€™s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

In a statement, The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo congratulates all Muslim Ummah at home and abroad on this occasion.

He calls on the Muslim Ummah to continue to imbibe the spirit of peace, kindness and sacrifice, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him) and to also use the period to pray for unity, prosperity and the stability of the country.

While wishing the Muslim Ummah a happy Eid-ul-Adha celebration, the Minister assures that the Administration of President Bola Tinubu is committed to safeguarding the lives and property of all Nigerians.

It is expected of Muslims all over the world to sacrifice these two days to recognize the good work of prophet Mohammed to humanity and apply same to improve their respective states and Nations.
